Welcome to Create Gen

Create Gen is a Peterborough-based branding and media agency that is a collective of specialised creatives focused on helping businesses, entrepreneurs and creators solve problems that prevent them from getting to the next level.

We’re expecting even more innovation and disruption in the digital world in the next five years. Covid-19 and the lockdown era showed us the importance of online brand presence. Many businesses were sadly left behind as they didn’t understand their purpose, the importance of innovation or connecting their story to their customers, building authenticity and how that can reward them in the long run.

We love innovating, testing and reinventing brands of different sizes with a passion. With over a decade of experience across our team, we’ve managed branded public relations and digital campaigns, content design, community management, production and post-production across public, private, non-profit and charity sectors.

In an increasingly time-constrained world with ever-evolving digital and consumer-behaviour trends, we want you to outshine your customers with peace of mind.  We provide bespoke creative packages for your business needs and problems. Let us help you create your business, whilst you can focus on running it.

Our Story

Create Gen was the vision of our Creative Director and Founder, Faisal Hussain.

Faisal’s experience over eleven years as a creative director, entrepreneur, digital marketeer, community developer, youth and creative mentor led to the creation of Create Gen. Initially he created, branded and marketed Faisal The Artist since 2012, sharing his passion and enthusiasm for creativity with the world despite going through the non-traditional route of being an artist and digital marketeer. He said:

“Being an artist comes with so many stereotypes before social media became popular, especially the narrative that ‘you can’t build a career as a fine artist’ or you won’t be noticed in life unless you were an upper-class white artist from a big city, or after you died like Van Gogh or Da Vinci. I wanted to change that narrative and become an artist with or without funding and help people to experience the artist in real life and how creativity can actually benefit the world.

I realised that many of us creators didn’t have the knowledge of marketing to be able to share our brand online and in real life. Social media was just launching off in the world. I started using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in 2012 for business, allowing me to explore and take risks typical artists didn’t take. My career as an artist was always a side hustle alongside school, university and my diverse career in marketing and communications.

As I moved to London a week before lockdown in March 2020 for a career move, my life was spun around rapidly overnight. I was made jobless and decided to push online and across my networks for branding commissions. This led me to create for a variety of businesses, entrepreneurs, social media influencers and podcasts. It also showed me that there is potential in my journey to build Create Gen into a media agency where I can experiment with creativity at a larger scale whilst making the world a better place and people appreciate creativity more.

After a late diagnosis of ADHD and dyspraxia in November 2021 I realised that I had to develop a new lifestyle which worked with my strengths and symptoms. The conditions surprisingly enhance my creativity and problem-solving too, which is a bonus! This led me to further develop my purpose of becoming a creative entrepreneur and advocating for neurodivergent people.

'The Beauty of Life'

Life is unexpected and beautiful despite the bumps along the way. Living outside your comfort zone can end up changing your life for the better.

I’ve met many fantastic people during my journey and had experiences across different sectors, working at my family’s business when younger, in accounting, owning and directing a clothing line, SEND assistant and being a youth worker, being a radio host and charity fundraiser, events management, acting and door-to-door sales.

These experiences really helped me develop my character and skills, and also allowed me to bring positive change to businesses and people that I’ve worked and connected with.

I’ve been given the opportunities to host art workshops and exhibitions and participate in real-life marketing and pop-up stalls, providing me with a holistic attitude to building a personal brand, developing an income and receiving international commissions and product orders.

I’d like to thank God, my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters for believing in me and helping me become the man I am today.”
